Competition Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Banana Moon Clothing Ltd (“Banana Moon”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).


2. Eligibility
2.1 The competition is open to schools, colleges, and educational institutions within the United Kingdom.

2.2 If you are under 18 years old, you represent and warrant to us by entering this competition that your parents/guardians have consented to your entry and to these Rules, which they have read.

2.3 Individual student entries will not be accepted.

2.4 Employees of Banana Moon, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the competition are not eligible to enter.


3. Competition Period
3.1 The competition closes on Friday June 26th 2026, as specified on the official competition webpage.

3.2 Entries received after the stated closing date will not be considered.


4. How to Enter
4.1 To enter, participating classes must:

  • Complete the downloadable hoodie template;
  • Submit a hoodie design concept;
  • Provide written responses explaining:
  • the meaning behind the design; and
  • why the design will “stand the test of time”;
  • Submit all required information via the official online entry form.

4.2 Only one entry per class/group is permitted unless otherwise stated.

4.3 No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.


5. Entry Requirements
5.1 Designs should reflect the competition themes of sustainability, longevity, creativity, and personal meaning.

5.2 Entries must be original work created by the participating students/class and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

5.3 Any inappropriate, offensive, defamatory, or plagiarised content will result in disqualification.

5.4 Banana Moon reserves the right to refuse or remove entries deemed unsuitable or not aligned with the spirit of the competition.


6. Judging Criteria
6.1 Entries will be judged by a panel selected by Banana Moon.

6.2 Judging criteria may include:

  • Creativity and originality;
  • Sustainability-focused thinking;
  • Quality and clarity of the concept;
  • Emotional meaning/storytelling;
  • How well the design demonstrates long-term appeal and relevance.

6.3 The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.


7. Prize
7.1 The winning class will receive:

  • 15 items of their winning hoodie design professionally produced by Banana Moon; and
  • An exclusive educational visit to Banana Moon HQ.

7.2 During the visit, the winning class may:

  • Observe the hoodie printing process;
  • Learn about sustainable garment production and printing techniques;
  • Meet members of the Banana Moon team.

7.3 The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and no cash alternative will be offered.

7.4 Banana Moon reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.

7.5 Any hoodies required in addition to the given prize must be purchased at list price


8. Travel & Supervision
8.1 The winning school is responsible for arranging appropriate supervision ratios for students attending the Banana Moon HQ visit.

8.2 Any travel arrangements, permissions, insurance, or safeguarding requirements remain the responsibility of the participating school unless otherwise agreed in writing by Banana Moon.


9. Intellectual Property & Usage Rights
9.1 By entering the competition, entrants grant Banana Moon a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use submitted designs, school names, and accompanying written content for promotional, editorial, marketing, and publicity purposes related to the competition.

9.2 This may include use across:

  • Banana Moon’s website;
  • Social media channels;
  • Press materials;
  • Marketing campaigns; and
  • Educational or promotional content.

9.3 The original creators retain ownership of their designs.


10. Publicity
10.1 By entering, participating schools agree that Banana Moon may use the school name, class name, submitted content, photographs, and video footage for promotional purposes connected with the competition.

10.2 Appropriate permissions for participating students must be obtained by the school prior to submission and participation.


11. Data Protection
11.1 Any personal data submitted as part of the competition will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and Banana Moon’s Privacy Policy.

11.2 Personal information will only be used for the administration of the competition and related communications unless consent has been provided for additional marketing communications.


12. Disqualification
Banana Moon reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:

  • breaches these Terms & Conditions;
  • contains false or misleading information;
  • is incomplete;
  • or is suspected of fraudulent activity.

13. Liability
13.1 Banana Moon accepts no responsibility for lost, delayed, corrupted, or incomplete entries due to technical or other reasons beyond its reasonable control.

13.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Banana Moon shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.


14. Cancellation & Changes
Banana Moon reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.


15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
