Personalised Hats

Embroidery is overwhelmingly the preferred and best method for customising most hats and caps. It offers a premium, professional, and highly durable finish that lasts longer than most printed methods, especially when applied to the curved front of a cap or the knit texture of a beanie. Printing is sometimes used on specific flat panels, such as the foam front of a trucker cap, or for complex, large-format designs where the detail cannot be captured by stitching. 

Should you prefer printed caps, we do have 'patch' beanies which have a patch of fabric sewn onto the front, enabling us to print in that area.

• Beanie Cuff: The cuff is a highly popular area for embroidery, especially for a subtle, professional logo. We recommend embroidery here as it is durable and sits well on the folded material.
• Cap Mesh Panels: Customisation is generally not recommended directly onto mesh panels (like those on a trucker cap) as the needle or ink struggles to adhere properly, and the result is often poor quality. Customisation is usually limited to the solid front panels.

The maximum workable area is determined by the construction of the hat, particularly the seam above the peak.

• Caps: The standard maximum width for a front logo is typically 55mm to 60mm tall and 110mm to 120mm wide for an adult cap. We always size the logo to look proportionate to the cap size.
• Beanies: The area is usually slightly larger but is constrained by the stretch of the knit. We will confirm the maximum size during the artwork approval process to ensure it looks professional.
  
  

Customisation isn't limited to the front. Other strong options include:

• Side: Ideal for small flag logos, sponsor logos, or text.
• Back: Perfect for websites, contact numbers, or individual team names, often placed above the adjustment strap.
• Peak/Visor: A subtle logo or text can be embroidered or printed onto the peak itself for extra detail.
