Your Design, Our Printing Expertise

At Banana Moon, we’re experts in a range of printing techniques, so you can choose the method that best fits your needs.

DTG Printed T-Shirts

Direct-to-garment printing uses inkjet printing technology to apply your design directly to your t-shirt. It’s fantastic for reproducing designs with fine-detailing and a vast colour palette.

DTF Custom T-Shirts

Direct-to-film t-shirt printing involves printing your custom design onto a film, which is then applied to the fabric of your t-shirt with a heat press. After cooling, the film is peeled away, leaving your incredible design on the t-shirt.

This method is suitable for all print colours, unlike DTG which has limitations with metallics and neons. For this reason, it is excellent for high-colour designs or printing photos onto fabric. It can also be used for a wider range of t-shirt fabric types, including polyester and poly/cotton fabric blends.

Screen Printing

Screen printing involves transferring a stencilled design onto a flat surface via a mesh screen, ink and squeegee. This process is recommended for bulk orders due to its cost-effectiveness.

Custom T-shirts FAQs

What's the best t-shirt printing method for detailed, colourful logos?

DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing is a brilliant choice for colourful, detailed designs because the design is, as the name suggests, applied directly to the fabric. The only exceptions to this are if your design contains neons or metallics, which are better recreated by DTF (Direct-to-Film printing).

Where is the best place to print a name on a t-shirt?

Where to print a person’s name on a t-shirt depends on the purpose of the t-shirt. T-shirts for sports teams, clubs, school leavers or more casual purposes can be styled with the name (or nickname) in bold print on the back.

For work uniforms, a popular choice is to print the name on the right-hand side of the upper chest in place of a name tag.

Are your t-shirt materials sustainably sourced

As a B-Corp, we have a proud commitment to providing sustainable options. These include personalised t-shirts made from organic cotton, regenerated cotton and recycled polyester.

See our sustainability page to learn more about our environmentally-conscious practices.

What is the minimum order for custom t-shirts?

Our current minimum order quantity is four custom t-shirts. However, you can contact us with enquiries for a smaller order.

Can I get a sample of your personalised t-shirts before placing a large bulk order?

Yes, we provide samples. Simply add your chosen garment, size and colour to your basket, and a pop-up box will appear. Select the ‘buy plain or as sample’ option and pay to receive your sample. This can be returned, unworn, within 28 days.

See our samples FAQ page to learn more.

How do I provide my artwork for custom t-shirt printing?

To provide your artwork for custom printing, first save your design as a vecto image. Vector image files include:

  • AI
  • EPS
  • PDF

These can be created using programs such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

If you are unable to send your design as a vector image, you can send it as a PNG file, however this file should be 300 dpi and as big, or bigger, than you’d like the design to be on your personalised t-shirt.
