Our responsibility for best garment care and the environment doesn’t end once we’ve delivered your goods.

Washing

In each of our deliveries you’ll find a simple, easy to follow garment care sheet.

Washing your clothing on low temperatures no more than 30 degrees Celsius on an eco-wash is the best way of saving impact on your household bills and the environment. The energy that goes into heating the water to a higher temperature is the main problem with the environmental impact. Often clothing isn't dirty enough to need washing so high.

The other things people can do is to try and use the washing machine less often, some clothes might be able to be worn again. But also saving up loads to wash using a full washing machine is a big energy saver.

Use Eco-Friendly Washing Detergents

Many washing detergents contain harmful chemicals which can not only affect the skin of the wearer, but also impact the local water system. These harmful substances include phospates, bleaches and plastic microfibres.

Good things to look out for on labels are no phthalates, bleaches or phosphates. And also look out for those which are fragranced artificially. Avoiding these ensure that it will be kinder to skin and to the environment.

Drying

Using a tumble dryer can not only affect garment shape and longevity but can also negatively impact print and embroidery too. Not to mention the energy created in getting the dryer up to temperature.

Where possible we would always advise to dry naturally. Doing so in a way that allows space for an item to hang also can reduce the need for ironing. This works on t-shirts and hoodies alike. This again saves the energy consumption of an iron, plus your time too!
